1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using Chancey, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using Chancey on behalf of a company or other business, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. The service
Chancey provides software for Shopify merchants to configure blind-box, mystery-box, or similar reveal-based commerce experiences using the merchant’s own store, products, orders, inventory, and Shopify workflows. Chancey may also provide a landing page, waitlist, support communications, and related documentation.
3. Eligibility and account requirements
- You must be able to form a binding contract and, if you are a business user, have authority to act for that business.
- You are responsible for your Shopify account, store configuration, credentials, and anyone you authorize to access the service through your store or systems.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current.
4. Merchant responsibilities
Chancey is software infrastructure. Merchants remain responsible for their store, their offers, and their customer-facing promises.
- Lawful use. You will use Chancey only in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, platform rules, and contractual obligations.
- Odds, disclosures, and promotion design. You are responsible for ensuring your blind-box or reveal experience is presented lawfully and truthfully, including disclosures about odds, eligibility, price, prize descriptions, shipping, taxes, refunds, and any age or jurisdiction restrictions.
- Inventory and fulfillment. You are responsible for maintaining accurate product data, inventory availability, and fulfillment operations, and for delivering the prizes or items your customers are entitled to receive.
- Customer support. You are responsible for handling buyer-facing support, order issues, refunds, and disputes arising from your store or promotions.
- Legal review. Chancey does not give legal advice. If your use case raises issues involving sweepstakes, gambling, contest, advertising, consumer protection, tax, or similar laws, you are responsible for obtaining your own legal advice before launch.
5. Restrictions
You will not, and will not allow others to:
- use Chancey for unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent activity;
- misrepresent odds, prizes, inventory, reveal outcomes, or other buyer-facing information;
- interfere with or disrupt the service, bypass security measures, or attempt unauthorized access to systems or data;
- copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the service except as permitted by law;
- use the service to infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person; or
- use the service in a way that violates Shopify’s platform rules or causes us to violate them.
6. Fees and billing
If Chancey charges subscription fees, usage fees, or other amounts, those fees will be disclosed through Shopify billing surfaces, the app, or other written pricing made available by us. You authorize the applicable charges through Shopify or another approved billing method we present.
Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly agreed by us in writing.
7. Service changes, beta features, and availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of Chancey at any time. Some features may be marked as beta, early access, preview, or similar. Those features may have bugs, incomplete functionality, or changing behavior, and may be changed or removed without notice.
8. Intellectual property
Chancey and its related software, branding, documentation, and content are owned by Chancey or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for your internal business purposes.
9. Feedback
If you send feedback, suggestions, or ideas about Chancey, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate that feedback without restriction or payment.

Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chancey is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for your intended use.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chancey and its affiliates, owners, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or related to the service or these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or related to the service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) $100 USD.
13. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Chancey and its affiliates, owners, employees, and service providers from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal and accounting fees, arising out of or related to:
- your use of the service;
- your store, products, promotions, or customer communications;
- your violation of these Terms; or
- your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Chancey if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for buyers, merchants, Shopify, or Chancey, or if we are required to do so by law or platform rules. You may stop using the service at any time, including by uninstalling the Shopify app if applicable.
15. General
- These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Chancey regarding the service, except for any separate written agreement we enter into with you.
- If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
- Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
- You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
